Mrs. Vercie Austin, 76, of Route 5, Box 1095, Huntsville, died July 4, 1995, at the Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. She was born Jan. 19, 1919, at Wharton, Ark., the daughter of Mallie Lincoln and Elizabeth Burgess Dotson. She was a homemaker and a Christian. She was preceded in death by one brother, Vernon Dotson.
Survivors include her husband, Buster Austin of the home; one sister, Mrs. Veda Graver of Oceanside, Calif., four nephews, Jim Graber and Dennis Graber, both of Oceanside, Calif., Danny Austin and Jim Austin, both of Huntsville; and three nieces, Mrs. Joy Sue Simkins of Osage, Mrs. Dorothy Lee Garrison of Garden City, Kan., and Mrs. Mary Jo Hedge of Illinois.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 6, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy I. Cain officiating. Interment was in the Whorton Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Jerry Burgess, John Henry Bolinger, Butch Fancher, Harold Simkins, Arthur Steele, and Danny Austin. Honorary pallbearers were Oren Austin, Jim Austin and Fred Burke.
