July 31, 1916 - February 9, 2010

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Tuesday, February 9, 2010, at Doctor's Hospital, Harry Woodrow Mills, husband of the late Edna Mills.

Mr. Mills was superintendent for Claussen & Webster Construction Co. He built Mamie's Cabin at the Augusta National where he began a friendship with President Eisenhower. He built the Old Medical College Library, the North Augusta Shopping Center, Daniel Village Shopping Center, the Fine Arts Building at Georgia Southern and the Augusta Public Library on Greene St., just to name a few. He was always a people person & a great outdoorsman. His love of animals was his main hobby. He was a member of Riverview United Methodist Church.

Family members include; daughters, Joyce Mills Brassell of Evans, GA., Brenda Mills Lockee (Tony) of Evans, Ga., son, Billy Mills (Ann) of Evans, GA. brother, James Mills of Evans, six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his son Buddy Mills, granddaughter, Angela Mills and son-in-law, Pierce Brassell.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 13, 2010, 11:00 AM at Riverview United Methodist Church with Pastor Elton Lawson officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ralph Guilbeau, Michael Brassell, Neal Smith, David Brassell, Rusty Mays and Kenny Gordon.
