John Daniel was the oldest born 1831 & Edward was the other born 1834. The oldest child was a unknown female age 10-15. All 4 of Joel and Sarah's son's named a daughter after their mother "Sarah Laura")

Little John was a twin. His twin brother was still born. John was named for his mother's father, John Daniel Dukes. Contrary to belief Sara was born in Duval Co., Florida to John Daniel Dukes and Eliza Ann LYNN both of Liberty Co. GA.

John was laid to rest at the age of three, at the feet of his twin brother in the spring of 1898. John and his twin were one of the first infant and child burials at Little Flock. Today their graves are unmarked except for a red brick border and are in the family plot at Little Flock. They are between their great-grandfather James Williams, father of their grandmother Talitha Ann Williams Cribbs who was Elder Jordan's wife, and their mother "Sarah Laurah Cribbs" , whose name and dates are not correct on her marker. She was mistaken for the daughter of William Henry Dukes, but she was his niece.

John had an older brother, William Jordan born in 1892. He had a younger sister, Talitha Ann Eliza born in 1896, who was named after James and Sara's mothers. Then sister's Ola Mae was born 1897, Mary Melissa in 1900, Minnie Lee in 1901, Alice Alzada in 1903 and Ethel Ophelia in 1904. John's mother passed away in 1906 from breast cancer and was buried next to him. Mary Melissa died in 1910 from burns she received when her dress caught fire. She is buried near them.

John's father re-married in 1908 and had 8 more children. See James Henry Cribbs' memorial for more information on his 2nd family.
