He was born on June 3, 1920, at Pine Bluff, a son of the late W. C. and Grace Rice Durham.
He was raised and received his education at Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School in 1939. He was a carman for Cotton Belt Railroad for 41 years, retiring in 1981. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a lifelong resident of Pine Bluff. He was a member of Watson Chapel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Durham, who died in 1922, and J. W. "Jack" Durham, who died in 1995.
Survivors include his wife, Kittie Henderson Durham, whom he married on November 1, 1946, at Pine Bluff; a son, Robert M. Durham of Huttig; two daughters, Kathy Durham Reed of Pine Bluff and Grace Durham Kirkpatrick of Hope; three sisters, Adeline Durham of Shreveport, Ann Durham McCreary of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Mary Durham Lohr of Saratoga, California; two grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors with the Rev. M. L. Faler officiating. Burial will be in Brown Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
