Born in Lancaster County, he was a son of Mrs. Annie Bell Carnes Byrnes and the late Harry F. Byrnes. He was a plumber and veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving are his mother of Lancaster, his widow, Mrs Peay Smith Byrne; four daughters, Misses Kathy, Debra, Linda Donna and Patricia Byrnes of the home.
The Rosary will be said at Mahaffey Funeral home. Services at St. Catherine Catholic Church with burial in Hopewell Methodist church cemetery.
