The Lancaster Review of last week says: Mr. Wm. N. Flynn, son of our highly esteemed fellow citizen Mr. J. Harvey Flynn, was accidentally drowned last Sunday afternoon while in bathing with a number of other young men in the mill pond at the Dixie Gold mine. It seems that one member of the party, Wm. Funderburk, could not swim, and having ventured into deep water began sinking and calling for help. Young Flynn, who had come out of the water and was dressing himself, leaped back into the pond and swam to the rescue of his friend. With the assistance rendered him by Flynn and by means of a plank extended to him by others on the bank, Funderburk was enabled to get out safely, but Flynn himself sank and was drowned. Flynn was about eighteen years of age and a young man of excellent character.
