BOSSIER CITY, LA - A funeral service for Edith "Molly" Bounds, 84, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, February 24, 2011at Pilgrim Home Baptist Church in Ivan, LA with Rev. Bill Lott, pastor of the church officiating. Interment will follow at Rocky Mount Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Rocky Mount. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, LA.
Mrs. Bounds was born March 13, 1926 in Bristol, England to Reginald and Daisy Horn Short and died February 21, 2011 in Bossier City, LA. She was a member of Pilgrim Home Baptist Church and a retired Licensed Practical Nurse.
Her husbands, Guy Bounds and William B. Bounds preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son, William Joe Bounds and wife Sandy of Ivan, LA; daughters, Annette Treadwell and husband Larry of Topeka, KS, Paulette Griffith and husband David of Benton, LA; sister, Marie Byrne of Bristol, England; step children, Joe Bounds of Ivan, LA, Sharon Ford of Rocky Mount, LA, Wade Bounds of Benton, LA; grandchildren, Shelley, Chris, Steven, Suzie and Randy; step grandchildren, Nikki, Jody and Kelly; six great grandchildren and special niece, Jo Byrne of Bristol, England.
Honoring Mrs. Bounds as pallbearers will be G.M. Coker, Jr., Steven Coker, Randy Bounds, Byron Hapgood, Jr., Jody Bounds and Kelly Bounds.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Pilgrim Manor, especially all the "Alices".

I had the pleasure of speaking to Molly several times on the phone and received many letters and correspondences from her back in the early 1990's when I was researching the Bounds families of Bossier parish. She was a very friendly and fun lady to speak to and had a great sounding English accent! She sent me a wealth of information and pictures relating to the descendants of William Richard Bounds from Ivan, Louisiana. Since I am a descendent of his brother, Stephen Henry Bounds who settled in Rocky Mount, I didn't have a lot of info on hand about the Bounds relations from Ivan until I started corresponding with her. - KBounds
