John Franklin Quilliam, 82, of Barr township, died last night while enroute to the Daviess County Hospital.

Mr. Quilliam was born November 25, 1875, in Barr township. He married Lulu Belle Allison on October 31, 1905, and to this union one daughter was born, who died in infancy. The deceased had been a member of the Bethany Christian Church since 1898 and for many years served as a deacon. Mr. Quilliam was an authority on Indian relics and bird life. He wrote articles for a number of papers including the National Tribune in Washington, D.C., The Indianapolis Star and many other publications including both county newspapers.

Surviving besides his widow is a sister, Clara Loughmiller, Barr township; two brothers, Roy Quilliam and Bernard Quilliam. Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Gill Chapel with Rev. Ben R. Bean officiating. Burial will be in the Bethany cemetery.

Friends may call at the Gill Chapel after 7 p.m. today.
