RIMMER, EMMA SUE (HICKS) - AGE 79, of Dandridge, TN (Piedmont Community) passed away Thursday morning, February 4, 2010 at University of Tennessee Medical Center following a brief illness. She had been a resident of the Chandler House of Jefferson City for the last several years. Emma Sue was born and raised in Dandridge and was the daughter of the late Harry and Bettie Reese Hicks. She graduated from Maury High School and worked for many years at the Standard Knitting Mill in Knoxville. She had been an active member of the Piedmont Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church of Dandridge. Preceded in death by her husband, Hugh K. Rimmer (2004). She is survived by her family, Geneva Browning, Catherine Sherfey and Etta Mae Parrott; her heart children, Jo and Brett Frazier and her special boys, Drew and Tyler Frazier and her many friends from church and Chandler House; sisters-in-law, Ona Pearl Denton, Kathleen Hill; brothers-in-law, Franklin Rimmer and Eugene "Wimp" Rimmer. The family extends their appreciation and special thanks to the staff of Chandler House for their love and care for Emma Sue. Funeral services, Wednesday 2:00 pm at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Dr Robert McCray and Dr Clyde Tilley officiating and eulogy by Rick Denton. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Family will receive friends, Wedneday afternoon, 12:00 to 2:00 pm prior to services at Farrar Funeral Home, Dandridge.
