He was born June 20, 1952, in Pontiac, to Jake V. and Helen (Clapp) Bauman. His mother survives in Pontiac.
He was preceded in death by his father and one son, Tate Bauman.
Butch had been a lifelong farmer and raised livestock near Pontiac.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Pontiac and a member of the Eureka Saddle Club. Butch greatly enjoyed trail riding with his horses and working hard on his cattle farm. He was a Pontiac Township High School graduate.
Butch had served his country in the U.S. Army.
