AGE: 85 MILLTOWN
Alice Oram Hill died Saturday, February 6, 2010, at her home in Milltown. She was 85. Born in New Brunswick she had lived there and in Camden before moving to Milltown over 50 years ago. She was the secretary for the President of the New Jersey State Senate before her retirement in 1985. Prior to that, she was the secretary to J. Edward Crabiel who was the Secretary of State and Minority Leader of the State Senate. Mrs. Hill was a member of the United Methodist Church at Milltown and was a member of the church's choir. She was also a member of the Milltown Historical Society and the Milltown Senior Citizens. She enjoyed doing counted cross stitch, working on the family genealogy and traveling across the United States and Canada with her husband in their Airstream trailer.
Her husband J. Dudley Hill died in 2004. She is also predeceased by two brothers George Oram and C. Robert Oram.
Surviving are her daughter Nancy Quattrocchi and her husband Richard of Fords; two sisters Dorothy Gierlich of Somerset and Clara Gimmel of Basking Ridge; two granddaughters Amy Ryan and her husband Shawn of Edison and Kathryn Quinn of Woodbridge; and a great grandson Patrick Ryan.
Funeral services will be 10:15 AM Wednesday from Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick followed by an 11:00 AM service at the United Methodist Church at Milltown. Burial will follow in Van Liew Cemetery in North Brunswick. Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
