Rev. Charles M., a Baptist clergyman, born November 5, 1849. He received his collegiate education at the University of Chicago, from which he received his degree of A. B. in 1878, and at the Baptist Theo. Seminary at Morgan Park, (near Chicago) from which he graduated receiving his degree of B. D. in 1882. He served as pastor of Baptist churches at Chatsworth, Aledo, and Washington, in Illinois, and near St. Cloud, Minnesota. He also served as principal of schools at Erie and Milan in Illinois, and now resides at Rock Island, Illinois. He was married in 1882, to Miss Kate J. Huntington, daughter of Charles R. Huntington of Chicago. Four sons were born to them, viz: Lucius, Marshall, Charles and Stanley. Charles was drowned in the Mississippi river while skating in 1896. Marshall died in Rock Island in 1901. Both Rev. and Mrs. Ege have been especially useful in social and religious work in their various places of residence.
