Samuel Boyd, Resident of Napa County Since 1876, Passes Away
Samuel Thomas Boyd, a resident of Napa County for fifty years, passed away at his home in St. Helena at 3:15 o'clock yesterday afternoon following a stroke of paralysis.
Mr. Boyd was born in 1848 in St. Louis, Missouri. He married Amanda Bone of Illinois and in 1876 migrated with his wife and two children to Napa county, California where he located and raised a family of eleven children.
The children surviving Mr. Boyd are: Mrs. Ellen Clancy of Richmond, Mrs. Mary Wilson of Sacramento, Mrs. Annie Warren of St. Helena, Mrs. Edith Johnson of St. Helena, Will Boyd of Lincoln, Mrs. Etta Seaton of Oakland, Mrs. Grace Morlan of Napa, Mrs. Angie Johnson of San Francisco, Mrs. Elsie De Malder of San Francisco. His first wife and two children, Sam and Matte Boyd have preceded him in death. There are so surviving him twenty-four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Samuel Boyd remarried a few years ago and his widow also survives him.
Funeral services will take place Saturday afternoon at two o'clock from Parmalees Parlors, St. Helena.
