Clifford D. Allen Services Held

Services were held today in St. Helena (Napa County) for Clifford D. Allen, former Oakland Port Commissioner and leader in the Oakland Boys Club. He died Saturday in a Calistoga hospital at the age of 74.

A native of Illinois, Mr. Allen was a vice president and general manager of the Western Paper Box Co.

He was the former president of the Oakland Boys' Clubs Inc., past president of the Oakland Lions Club, a former director of the Oakland Chamber of Commerce, a member of Aahmes Temple of the Shrine, a director of the Crippled Children's Society of Alameda and the Claremont Country Club.

One of the organizers of the Inter-Service Club Council of Oakland, Mr. Allen was also a member of the Oakland Lodge of Elks, Fruitvale Lodge of Masons, the Athenian-Nile Club and the Oakland Scottish Rite Bodies.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Allen of Calistoga, where the couple had lived for the past eight years; a daughter, Mary J. Young of Danville; son, Clifford D. Allen Jr. of San Jose, and his mother, Hazel D. Metzner of St. Helena.

The family prefers contributions to the Oakland Boys Club, 920 24th St.
