Clara Ward Garrett, Hartwell, Ga.
Clara Ward Garrett, 92, widow of Alfred Wayne Garrett, died Nov. 8, 2000, at Hart Care Center, Hartwell, Ga.
Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late William Stephen and Cora Lottie Hightower Ward.
She retired from J.P. Stevens, Slater Plant, after 40 years of service, and was a member of Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Doris Garrett McGrath of Martin, Ga.; a sister, Nell Margaret Gosnell of Winder, Ga.; three grandchildren, Steve Garrett of Greenville, Brenda Toomey of Seattle, Wash., and Clara Friend of Holland Mich.; four great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Garrett was predeceased by a son, Alvin S. Garrett Sr.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Graceland West Cemetery, with the Rev. Roger Plemmons officiating.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. at The Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
