She was born on May 9, 1916, in Jordan Mines, Va., and was the daughter of the late William and Bessie Childs Burch.
Mrs. Coffman graduated from Covington High School. In 1944, she moved to Harrisonburg from Covington, Va. She was a homemaker and a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
On Nov. 26, 1936, she married Julian E. Coffman, who preceded her in death on Dec. 10, 1995.
She is survived by a son, Julian "Jay" E. Coffman Jr. and wife, Connie, of Richmond; a daughter, Judith Garner and husband, William, of Asheboro; two granddaughters, Kristy Barker and husband, Marty, Elaine Roberson and husband, Andy; a stepgranddaughter, Ashley VonGunten and husband, Josh; two great-grandchildren, Zachery and Cassie Roberson; and one sister, Juanita Garrett of Huntsville, Ala.
A graveside service will be held Saturday afternoon, Dec. 22, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens for family and close friends, with the Rev. Larry Thompson officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Asbury United Methodist Church, 205 S. Main St., Harrisonburg, Va. 22801 or the Harrisonburg-Rockingham County Salvation Army, 185 Ashby Avenue, Harrisonburg, VA 22802.
