Helen M. Lumbra, 88, of Burlington died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at her home.

She was born in Montgomery on Jan. 9, 1912, the daughter of the late Nathan and Mina (Combs) Lagro.

She had been employed as a practical nurse for over 16 years with the Mary Fletcher Hospital.

She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Rushlow and her husband, Lyle, of Burlington, and Joan Rubino and her husband, Donald, of Milton; 23 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gerald Lagro and his wife, Barbara, of St. Albans, and Robert Lagro and his wife, Dean, of Yuma, Ariz.; one sister, Barbara Lamore of Waterbury; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Richard; a daughter, Victoria Dacres; a son, Gaysford Lumbar; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000, at 2 p.m. in the Ready Funeral Chapel, 934 North Ave.

Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery. For those who wish, donations in her memory may be made to either Vermont Lung Association, 30 Farrell St., South Burlington, Vt. 05403, or American Heart Association, Vermont Affiliate, 12 Hurricane Lane, Williston, Vt. 05495. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Ready Funeral Home North Chapel, 934 North Ave., Burlington.
