YOUNG MOTHER SUCCUMBS
Mrs. Effie Lee Mattingly, 30 years old, wife of Thomas Mattingly of Chicago, died at SS. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville last Friday morning at 10:25 o'clock of eclampsia. She was taken to the hospital Thanksgiving Day, having been stricken ill on the previous day at her home. The body was brought to Bosley's Funeral Home in this city Friday and the next day was taken to her home. Funeral services were held at 8:30 o'clock Monday morning at St. Francis Church at Chicago by the Rev. C. P. Bowling of Owensboro, and burial was in the church cemetery. Before her marriage Mrs. Mattingly was Miss Effie Lee Ruley, daughter of Tom Ruley and the late Mrs. Ida Mae Brown Ruley. She was born in this county March 12, 1907. Surviving are her husband, two children, Gerald and Dorothy Mattingly; her father, who resides in Louisville; one sister, Mrs. Susie Mattingly of this county and two brothers, Joseph Ruley of Louisville and Edward Ruley of this county.
