Dorothy R. Aschenbach, 91, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, February 3, 2010 at Sunny Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center where she had been residing.

Born June 24, 1918 in Manitowoc, Dorothy was a daughter of the late Harry and Ida Wilke Barneson.

She attended and graduated from Manitowoc area schools.

On August 13, 1938, she was united in marriage to Lester Aschenbach in Manitowoc.

Dorothy worked for the Spiller Spring Company for many years. She previously worked at Enzo Gel.

She was currently a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

She enjoyed reading, making latch hook projects, loved to dance but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her sons, Larry (Harriet) of Iron River, MI, Lester (Pam), Richard (Debra), both of Sheboygan, Jack (Debbie) of Jacksonville, FL and Rick (Becci), Sheboygan; her daughters, Joanne (Gary) Miesfeld, Karen DeVriend, Lorrie (Keith) Borth, all of Sheboygan, Marilyn (Jeff) Zimmermann of Howards Grove, Lynn Bogenschutz and Jill (Dave) Seefeldt, both of Sheboygan; 27 grandchildren, Gina (Curtis) Meyer, OK, Bradley (Sally) Aschenbach, Tommy Aschenbach, both of MI, Brian (special friend, Debbie) Miesfeld, Todd (Shiela) Miesfeld, both of Sheboygan, Heather (Jeremy) Becker of Friendship, WI, Debbie Kretschman of Waldo, Scott Borth of Sheboygan, Jason (special friend, Kim) Zimmermann of Oshkosh, Dawn (Bryan) Elias of Sheboygan, Jamie (Ben) Englebert of Howards Grove, Cory (special friend Sarah) Bogenschutz of Milwaukee, Matt (Danielle) Bogenschutz of Green Bay, Stacy (Arrick) Parks, Amy (Jason) Gruenke, both of Sheboygan, Jeremy (Tammy) Aschenbach of Kiel, Justin (special friend Courtney) Aschenbach of Madison, Lisa (Jay) Cook of Sheboygan, Tammy Aschenbach of Plymouth, Kevin (Terri) DeVriend of Sheboygan, Kim (Tom) Meyer of Kiel, Sam, Zachary and Thomas Aschenbach, all of Sheboygan, Sara (Robert) Horne, and Shawn Aschenbach, FL; 38 great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald (Nancy) Barneson of Manitowoc, and Robert (Donna) Barneson, CA; sisters-in-law, Joyce Aschenbach of Sheboygan Falls, Anna (Nello) Zarletti of Kenosha, and Ruth Glaubig of Sheboygan; brother-in-law, Jack (Nancy) Aschenbach of Sheboygan; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Besides her husband, Lester, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Gary; two sons-in-law, James DeVriend and Gary Bogenschutz; three grandsons, Larry, Jr., Greg and Chad Aschenbach; in-laws, Carl (Marion) Perlberg, Ed Aschenbach, Edgar (Georgiana) Aschenbach, Gene Glaubig, Donald (Lorreta) Burtard.

Funeral services for Dorothy will take place at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the Lippert-Olson Funeral Home, 1132 Superior Avenue. The Rev. John Berg, Associate Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service. Entombment will take place in Gardens of Peace Mausoleum of Greenlawn Memorial Park.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of the 3rd floor at Sunny Ridge for all of the loving care and support over the past four years.
