Clarence B. King, 80, Route 4, Box 308, and for the past three months a resident of Lutheran Homes, died early today at Muscatine General Hospital following an extended illness.
Services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. Walter B. Helms, pastor, will officiate. Organist is Beverly Weber. Pallbearers are Harold Marley, Bernie Coder, John Droll, Arlie Kennedy, John Conway and George Reesink. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation is Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Riley Funeral Home where a memorial has been established.
Mr. King was born July 14, 1906 in Muscatine County, a son of Joseph and Nellie Hickey King. He was a lifelong resident of the area. On Nov. 23, 1926 he married Bonita Lorber at Muscatine. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He had farmed in Lake township, Muscatine County, his entire adult life, retiring 10 years ago. He was also a livestock trucker until one year ago.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, James B. King, and Ronald C. King, both of Muscatine; one daughter, Mrs. Merle (Joyce) Rock, Mankato, Minn.; 17 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one grandson and two sisters.
