By Pamela Treme (a great niece)
Aunt Lillie would do a cross country trip every other year through the 1970s. She would start out in Orange County, travel to Dallas to stay with her niece Joy, and then to my father's house where she would spend a month. From my father's house, she traveled to Florida to stay with a cousin for a few weeks. Then it was back to my father's house for a month, through to Dallas, and home to Orange County. Along the way, she would distribute small pieces of jewelry and pictures and she'd talk about her family and growing up. Her visits to my father's home in New Orleans gave me the chance to get to know her. It was an opportunity that I appreciated. My Aunt Lillie is in part responsible for my having gotten bitten by the genealogy bug. She loved family history.
