son of Joachim and Anna Catharine Geiss Nagel
wife Barbara Ann Imler; Sarah Hottenstein

During the revolution he entertained George Washington at the Nagle home in Reading. He considered this a highlight of his life. It was said that they were very good friends.

NAGEL, Barbara Anna, died last Sunday evening in her 10th year, the only and greatly beloved little daughter of Peter Nagel Jr., of Amity Twp., this county. (1-10-1815ed.)

From a findagrave visitor:

Peter Nagel had a daughter Catharine Nagel (1784-1848) also. She is buried in Schuykill County. She is the daughter of Barbara Ann Imler who is buried next to Peter in this grave. They were both transfered to this cemetery
when the original burial place at another church (I think First Reformed Church of Reading) was reorganized due to the church expanding. His second wife Hottenstein? is buried in another cemetery and refers to him on her tombstone there. The records in the cemetery say Hottenstein is buried there, but that is not true from my research. I wrote a letter to the cemetery to notify them of my findings. I have a better pic of the grave than posted. Additionally, Peter was a Revolutionary War Hero and had a Brass Marker that was taken from his grave in the past 5 years. I have a photo of the grave with the marker. I will post when I find it in my files. Thanks.
