James (Jimmy Jeep) Barrus Sheldon, passed away at home on Sunday, May 14, 1989. James was the son of John Loveland Sheldon II and Eleanor R. Barrus Sheldon.

James was a graduate of South Kingstown High School, and was an assistant manager at his family business, Sheldon Housefurnishing Company in downtown Wakefield. James served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. James was a firefighter of the Wakefield Fire Company and a Captain and volunteer corpsman in the South County Ambulance and Rescue Corps.

James is survived by his brother John Loveland Sheldon III of South Kingstown, and his sister Janet Sheldon Boyle of Narragansett, and several nieces and nephews, and many friends.

James funeral was celebrated at the Church of the Ascension, in South Kingstown, and was buried with military honors in the family plot in Riverside Cemetery, South Kingstown.

James B. Sheldon , 42, of Winchester Drive, South Kingstown, vice president of Sheldon House Furnishings, died Sunday at home.

Born in Providence, he was a son of John L. Sheldon II, and the late Eleanor (Barrus) Sheldon .

Mr. Sheldon was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was a member of the Wakefield Fire Company and the South County Ambulance Corps. He joined the ambulance unit at age 14, as a junior member, and graduated in the first class of EMTs in South County.

Besides his father he leaves a brother, John L. Sheldon III of South Kingstown, and a sister, Janet S. Boyle of Narragansett.

A graveside service was held at Riverside Cemetery.
