On Saturday, the 28th day of April 1926 God saw fit to bless Mr. Joseph and Mrs. Nancy Allen with a precious daughter named Janie Allen. She had a personal relationship with her Lord since childhood. Janie united with Mt. Moriah Baptist Church at an early age. She has been a devoted member at Victory Christian Center for over 11 years.

She met and united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Floyd Henderson Benton. To this glorious union sic children were born. her beloved husband and parents preceded her in Glory.

Janie was a gracious mother to many as well as a foster mother to the handicap and disabled young and old. She lifted the name of Jesus in grateful praise, inspired people from all walks of life, and enjoyed feeding people of the community. We shall miss you, but we shall never forget you. "Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord henceforth; Yea, saidth the Spirit, that they rest from their labours, and their works do follow then." Revelation 14:13

A Message From Heaven: During the afternoon on Monday, April 21, 2003 the Lord came to me and said, "My child, Mrs. Janie Allen Benton, it is time for you to come safely home." I told him, I knew He was coming, but this was a journey I had to make alone. Agreeing with my request, the Lord went to work...after putting a peaceful rest upon my home, the Lord came back to my bedside and said, Take my hand," and when I took his hand the feeling I received was so strong that it took my breathe away. My last sigh was not the sigh of death, but it was one of sweet relief because my grounded soul had been freed. My Spirit trembled with elation because now was the time to start the Victory Celebration. A celebration of my true life, the one that my Lord had long ago promised me...a street paved with gold in a land where you never grow old. I never could truly conceive the meaning "When this life is over, I'll Fly Away...until I received my own personal set of wings." Glory Hallelujah!

She leaves to rejoice in her memory her loving children, three sons, Floyd Henderson Benton Jr. (Keiko), Greenville, South Carolina, Joseph Franklin Benton and Fredrick Alvin Benton both of Charlotte, North Carolina; three daughters, Dian Benton (James) Digsby, Charlotte, NC., Carrie Benton (Herman) Anderson, Castle Haynes, NC., and Catherine Dunn (Ronnie) Jimenez, Bay Shore, NY.; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one brother, Thomas Wilson Allen, Washington DC.; two sisters, Johnsie Allen (Samuel) Long, Matthews, NC.; and Dicie Allen (Early) Pharr, Charlotte, NC., and numerous nieces, nephews, other dear relatives and wonderful friends like you.
