Funeral services for Herman J. Jordahl, 77, Wadena, who farmed all his life in Wing River township, were conducted at 1:30 p.m. June 6, 1963 at Zion Free Lutheran Church, Wadena, with Rev. Fred Carlson officiating. Interment was in the Bethany Lutheran church cemetery at Bluegrass.
He passed away June 2, 1983 at Tri-County Hospital, Wadena, after an extended illness and a one-month stay at the hospital. Casketbearers were Leonard Knudson, Leonard White, Rueben Dallman, Raymond Jacobson, Harold Erickson and Ted Tebben.
He is survived by his wife, Olga; one brother, Victor, Wing River township; two sisters, Mrs. Hilda Mary Maring and Mrs. Henry (Amanda) Rauk, Kenyon and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother and sister, Victor and Josephine; another brother, Clarence, and one sister, Mrs. Thilda Stenbakken.
He was born Dec. 17, 1905 to Hans and Dora Ann (Auseth) Jordahl at Shell Lake, Wis. He was united in marriage to Olga Westby Mar. 24, 1927 at Sebeka and they dairy farmed in Wing River for 52 years. Because of poor health, they moved to Wadena in 1979.
He taught Sunday School at Hope Chapel Alliance church and at Bethany Lutheran church, Bluegrass. He attended Zion Free church in Wadena.
