Edwin C. George, 81, of Deanville, New Bethlehem RD2, Armstrong County, died Wednesday Feb. 15, 1984 in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Patrick Jr. of New Bethlehem RD1. Born 10/21/1902, in Allegheny County, he was the son of Edward C. and Hattie (Austin) George. He was married on Feb. 12, 1942 to Mabel (Ruth) George who survives him. He was a member of the Sunday School class of the Oakland Church of God and had been employed by H.K. Porter Fire and Brick Company, St. Charles. In addition to his wife and daughter, survivors include five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two sisters, Marguerite Willison of New Bethlehem and Louella Anthony of Brackenridge. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Wallace "Happy" George and an infant sister.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 1984 at the Charles D. Alcorn Funeral Home, Hawthorn with the Rev. Michael Duty, pastor of the Oakland Church of God officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Distant. Daily Leader Times 2/16/1984
