IN REMEMBERANCE

On the 25th day of May 1920, the death angel visited the home of Miss Essie Lee Tucker and carried away her precious grand-father.

Thomas Phillips Tucker was born Oct. 2nd, 1833 in Warrier District Bibb county Ga., and was married to Miss Georgian F. Jarvis of Jeffersonville, Twiggs county, Ga., April 2nd, 1854. He was 87 years of age.

He is survived by seven chldren, six girls and one boy. Mrs. J. W. Newell, Mrs. D. F. Hardison, Mrs. J. T. Akin, Mrs. J. W. Garvin, Mrs. Emmett Garvin, Mr. G. D. Tucker, thirty-three grand-children and thirty-six great-grand children.

He served in the army three years with Company G, 8th Ga. Cavalry. Went to the army in 1862 and was mustered out May 19th 1865, moved from Bibb county to Decatur near Baimbridge and lived one year, from there he moved to Houston county near Byron and lived 62 years....

The funeral services...were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from Shiloh church, Elder Walter Heard officiating. The interment was made in Shiloh cemetery.
