The son of James Albert Boland and Lucy E. DeLacretaz, Kyle married Edna Viola Vessells in July of 1928. They were the parents of 2 children, and he was an auto mechanic in a plate glass factory.

They lived in several different places over the years. Kyle and Edna lived in Crystal City in Jefferson County, Missouri during the early part of their marriage. In the early 1930's, the Bolands moved to rural Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, and he did factory work for the Elder Manufacturing Company. The couple later moved to St. Louis County, Missouri where Kyle worked as a foreman for a tool and die making company.

The Bowlands eventually divorced in the early 1950's. She married William Ivan Stewart, but was widowed by 1956. She then married Odis Harold Barwick on 29 Aug 1959.

Kyle was hospitalized at City Hospital in March of 1967, where he was a patient for the final 3 weeks of his life. He died there of laennec's cirrhosis at the age of 60 years and 22 days.

He was survived by 1 daughter, Shirley Rehm; 1 son, Owen Boland; and his grandchildren.

Kyle was buried on 06 Apr 1967. Collier's Mortuary in St. Ann, Missouri was in charge of arrangements.
