CARDER, Daisy Dereatha of Saginaw, Michigan (formerly of Salem, West Virginia) - Passed away Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Hoyt Rehab & Nursing Centre, age 91 years.


Daisy Plauger was born in New Milton, West Virginia July 1, 1918 the daughter of the late William and Rosa Plauger. She married George O. Carder July 13, 1946. He predeceased her January 27, 1985.


Before moving to Saginaw, Daisy was employed at West Fork Cut Glass Co., Salem, West Virginia. She was a member of First Church of God, Saginaw; the 1918 club and the Association for Retarded Citizens.


Daisy is survived by her son, Gary Carder; a sister-in-law, Monica Carder; 11 nieces; several nephews; 8 foster daughters; her church family; special friends, Adlene and Bill Houston; Nancy and Wayne Fox who have helped Daisy over the years; special friends, Jean Cook, Carol and Jeff Brindle of England.


In addition to her husband, Daisy was predeceased by her daughter, Shirley Juanita Carder; two sisters, Fay and Ruby; five brothers, Dorsey, Elbert, Ernest, Hazel Roosevelt and Harry; a brother-in-law, Charles Carder.


The funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 14, 2009 at First Church of God, 1834 N. Charles. Rev. David L. VanNorman and Mr. Roger Spann will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at W. L. Case & Company, 409 Adams St. and at church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
