Jesse Hamer moved to Young County in 1921 from Palo Pinto County, Texas. He was in charge of the Ralco Oil interests. In 1921, Jesse Hamer owned a garage at the oil field town of Harding. By 1925, Jesse Hamer was drilling oil wells near Murray.
Jesse and Ava moved from Graham to Rising Star in 1937. He moved back to Graham in 1974.
Survivors: daughters - Mrs. J.M. Morton; Mrs. Roy Waynick; son - Daniel Hamer; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.
One child preceded him in death.
