The many friends of Charles Greenbery Akridge were saddened to know of his which occurred at his home seven miles north of Cairo at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday evening, September 18th, following an illness of two weeks.
Mr. Akridge was born on December 21, 1867, the son of the late John and Aleine Akridge. His life spent in Grady county; he engaged as a farmer. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. C. G. Akridge, Sr., Rt. 2, two daughters, Mrs. L. C. Barrett and Mrs. W. H. Taylor and one son, Mr. C. G. Akridge, Jr., two grandchildren, all of county; and two sisters, Mrs. J. G. Willis, Meigs, and Mrs. W. M. Crosby, this county. The funeral was held at Pleasant Grove Church at 4 Friday afternoon with Rev. T. H. Watson and Rev. F. O. Oates in charge. Interment was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
