MANIX DEATH EARLY TODAY VERY SUDDEN
Sister of Greenville Police Chief is Stroke Victim


Mrs. Margaret Eleanor Lynch Manix, (second wife and) widow of the late George William Manix, Sr. (1843-1917), prominent Greenville township farmer, died very suddenly at 8:15 a.m. today, Monday, 03 May 1937, today at her country home, three miles northeast of Greenville, on the Celina Road. Death was attributed to a paralytic stroke.

Mrs. Manix, who was a sister of Police Chief John Lynch (1860-1944), Greenville, was born and reared in this city. Her parents, the late Patrick (1812-1862) and Honora Dwyer (1827-1899) Lynch, were natives of Ireland.

She had attended St. Mary's Catholic Church since childhood and was an active member of the church's Altar Society.

She leaves two sons: John H. Manix (1876-1942, s/o Emma), and Robert C. Mannix (1898-1980), both of Greenville, who are associated in business as road contractors; three daughters: Annnie J. Mannix (1870-1963, d/o Emma), Esther Honora Mannix (1888-1982), and Katherine Rebecca Mannix (1893-1957), both at home; and several grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted from St. Mary's Catholic Church at nine o'clock Wednesday morning, 05 May 1937, with the Reverend Father John A. Gnau officiating at Requiem High Mass. Interment will be made in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
