World War II veteran; devoted grandfather

Anthony M. Muccigrosso, 81, of Ridley Township, a retired two-career man, World War II veteran and doting grandfather, died Feb. 1 at home.

Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Muccigrosso, was a resident of the Folsom section of Ridley Township for the last 53 years.

Mr. Muccigrosso was an auto body repairman for a number of years, retiring in 1981 due to illness.

He attended Delaware County Community College, graduating in May 1987 with a degree as a biomedical technician.

He then worked for Crozer-Chester Medical Center, retiring in 1994.

His hobbies included stained glass, wood carving and painting. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II, having served on the USS Algol.

He was the widower of Dolores Gullifer Muccigrosso, the father of the late Elizabeth Yocum, and the son of the late Pasquale A. and Carmella Patrella Muccigrosso.

Survivors: Daughters, Dolores O'Dea of Martinsburg, Geraldine Morris of Flowermound, Texas, Antoinette Muccigrosso of Ridley Township; son, Pasquale "Pat" Muccigrosso of Lincoln University; sister, Antoinette DiPricio of Philadelphia; six grandchildren: Denise Cespites, Brian Judge, Willian O'Dea, Phillip Judge, Christina Morris and Gabrielle Morris; one great-grandson: Anthony Michael Judge.

Service: Mass, Noon Saturday, Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church, Milmont Avenue, Ridley Township.

Visitation: 7-9 p.m. Friday, Kevin M. Lyons Funeral Service, 202 S. Chester Pike, Glenolden.

Burial: SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Marple.
