Margaret E. Abbott, 72, of Nebraska City, died Saturday, August 17, 2002 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.
She was born March 25, 1830, the daughter of Will and Nancy M. (Polston) Bolton. She graduated form Malvern High School. On August 15, 1950, she was married to Everett Eugene "Gene" Abbott in Falls City. She worked for many years at the former Tobers Clothing Store in Nebraska City, and poor to that at the former Winky Dinky Grocery Store in Nebraska City. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Nebraska City and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by daughters Kathi Curtis of Vancouver, Washington, and Sherry Abbott of Live Oak, California; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Abbott (1993), sons Robert, Dennis, and Tim Abbott and brothers, Darwin and Ralph Bolton.
Memorial services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, August 22, 2002, at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City with burial in Wyuka Cemetery. There is no visitation at the request of the family, Memorial go to the American Cancer Society or the Diabetes Fund.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Nebraska City and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed shopping and traveling. She loved spending her Friday evenings getting together and sharing with other widow ladies in the community.
