George Wesley Baker, 67, a local oil field driller died at his home. He moved to Graham in 1936. Mr. Barker was active in the oil well drilling during the great Ranger oil boom of 1919. George Barker attended school in Pennsylvania and married Miss Elsie Irene Henry of Buchanan, West Virginia in Upshur County, West Virginia. The couple came to Texas settling at Ranger in 1919.
Survived by his wife; one son - George Henry Barker of Dallas; three daughters - Mrs. J.R. Roach, Mrs. J.H. Rainey, Mrs. A.H. Lowery; four sisters; seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
