Dr. Niemeyer Succumbs To Illness

Death yesterday claimed Dr. Theodore J. Niemeyer, owner of the Dog and Cat Hospital at 2121 Pico Blvd., Santa Monica. He died at the UCLA. Medical Center of a chronic illness. He entered the hospital last Tuesday. He was born 50 years ago in Los Angeles.

Rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock tonight and requiem mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. tomorrow in Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Pacific Palisades, of which he was a member. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Gates, Kingsley & Gates funeral directors are in charge.

Surviving the his widow, Gwendolyn, of 1445 Chautauqua, Pacific Palisades; their sons, William of Venice, and Robert and Richard of Pacific Palisades; a brother, Dr. William Niemeyer of Los Angeles; three sisters, Mrs. Marie Blankmeyer of Inglewood; Mrs. Vera Bello of Newhall and Mrs. Lorenza Kelleher of Vista, and two grandsons.

Dr. Niemeyer was a member of the Southern California Veterinary Medical Assn. and the Bay Cities Veterinary Medical Assn. He took over operation of the pet hospital in 1935.

The hospital will continue to operate under the direction of Dr. Jack Harvey.

Rosary tonight 8 p.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Pacific Palisades. Requiem Mass Tuesday 9 a.m. at the church. Gates, Kingsley & Gates, Santa Monica, directors.
