Buck served in the Civil War as Private Co. D. 9th Regt. North Carolina Troops (calvary). He enlisted May 1, 1861 and serve until Gen. Lee surrendered, April 1865. Married Mary Green-Greene from North Carolina. Worked for the Waggoner Cattle Company in Electra, TX for 50 years.

ELECTRA, Feb. 3 - W.H. (Uncle Buck) Miller, 90, died Friday. Funeral Services were held at the First Baptist Church Saturday, with six grandsons serving as pallbearers. Rev. W. W. Rivers, pastor officiated. Three daughters, Mrs John McDuff and Mrs. Sallie McDaniel, Electra and Mrs. Rebecca Galliard of Kansas, one son, W. Lee Miller, Long Beach CA., and 35 grandchildren, 83 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren survive, making 181 living descendants.
