Willa's eulogy at Paradise Cemetery:

Willa Montana Gingery passed away January 31st, 2010 at St. Patrick's Hospital in Missoula. Willa was born July 2, 1975 in Plains, MT to John G. Gingery and Sandra Marquardt Gingery.

Willa received an LDS baptism in the Clark Fork River, at the "old swimming hole" by one of her favorite people, Howard Gambit.

Willa came into, spent time, and left this world like the brightest star... much loved and much wanted. As a small child Willa marched to a different drummer. More than once her parents awoke in the middle of the night to find her running and playing with the horses in the moonlight. When Willa was a small child she drew a picture of her dream house... it was a barn full of horses. And this was no surprise to her family. Willa's love for animals was fierce. Her first real buddy, a Shetland named Frosty Roger, was the center of her world. She rode him endlessly and had a cart and harness to drive him. And there was always an endless variety of cats and a few special dogs devoted only to her.

She grew up loving to fish the high mountain lakes and spent much time in remote horse packed hunting camps. Even while packing in extreme weather, not one person in the camp ever heard a complaint out of Willa because she was in her element... on a horse, in the mountains. Willa got her first deer at the age of 12 and one each year for the following five years. When she was 13 she not only bagged a buck but also cleaned and processed it and received county-wide recognition at a cook off for her own venison meatloaf recipe.

Willa knew no limits on anything she approached. A simple example is at a concert during her last year of high school, she received a standing ovation for her piano solo of the ‘Man From Snowy River'. Willa taught herself how to play the piano... and anytime she played people listened.

After graduating from high school in Plains, Willa joined the U.S. Air Force serving from 1993 to 1999. Willa approached her Air Force time with the same passion she had always shown for everything she became involved in. She was trained initially as an Inventory Management Specialist and later trained as an Intelligence Analyst. While serving Willa was a member of the Air Force Honor Guard sadly closing air bases, honoring retired service members and laying to rest fallen military personnel. Willa was a member of Operation Southern Watch in the middle east conflict and missed by a few short days being a casualty when the Kobar Towers were bombed in Saudi Arabia. While serving her country, Willa was honored with the Air Force Achievement Medal with 2 devices, Air Force Longevity Service Award, Air Force Training Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship/Rifle, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award and Air Force Good Conduct Medal.

Willa married Timothy Moss on December 29, 1995 in Thompson Falls, MT. A son, Logan, was welcomed to the family with great love on July 4, 1999. Willa was filled with awe and love for her son from the moment he entered the world because she would lay awake watching him for hours, sacrificing her own rest. Willa's heart broke every time she heard of anything negative happening to children, crying silently as only a mother does. Willa's love for Logan will continue on in his heart, in his memories and through his family and friends.

Upon leaving the military Willa returned to Missoula where she worked for Montana Rail Link and the Forest Service at the Rocky Mountain Research Station. Willa's excellent work history followed her through these careers. She was well prepared when she entered the Montana School of Massage and graduated as a custom therapeutic massage therapist, with a true desire to make a real and whole difference in the lives of those she administered to. Willa said her mother was her true inspiration to enter this field.

Willa met Ryan Anderson in 2006. On March 20th, 2009 Willa and Ryan were married in Missoula, MT. They shared a passion for the outdoors enjoying numerous fishing, hunting, camping and hiking trips. Although time together was cut far too short, Willa and Ryan would have continued to explore their shared loved of nature.

Willa was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Bitterroot Chapter, was a fourth generation member of Fidelity Rebekah Lodge #50 in Plains, and a member of the Auxiliary Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War.

Willa was proceeded in death by her brother, John Gary Gingery, Jr., her mother, Sandra Marquardt Gingery, and brother-in-law Benjamin Bromberg.

She is survived by her son Logan, husband Ryan, father John Gingery, sister Janez Gingery, brothers Jim Allison and family; Gene Allison and family; father-in-law and mother-in-law Darrel and Kim Anderson and family; and mother-in-law and father-in-law Kim and Ron D'Angelo and family; as well as many other extended family members.

Willa always had a longing for travel and while she traveled all over the United States and to other countries... she longed for more. Now she is able to do so.

Heavenly Father chose to take Willa home at an early age, but she will live on in our hearts, in our thoughts and in our dreams.
