Donald Reuben Sumner, 84, of Haleyville, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010. Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with Jerry Pounders and Pat Murray officiating. Burial followed at Winston Memorial Cemetery.
He served his country in the United States Army, and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruben O. and Victoria Sumner and brother, Orbie L. Sumner.
He is survived by his wife, Telitha, L. Cagle Sumner; children, Cynthia P. Sumner Davis and Donald W. Sumner; sister, Alpha A. Sumner Cobb; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
