Wife of Gov Gilbert Carlton Walker (son of Sabinas & Matilda Walker) of Virginia who was born in Gibson, Susquehanna, PA

Mrs Gilbert C Walker, widow of the late Gilbert C Walker, for two terms Governor of Virginia directly after the Civil War, died at the home of her sister, Mrs S E Griswold, 11 Pine street, this morning. Mrs. Walker was born in this city Sept 18, 1832 and with her husband, went to Norfolk, Va, in 1865. The following years were spent in Richmond, the capital, with a subsequent residence in Washington DC, and New York City. They returned to Binghamton to take up their residence a few years previous to Governor Walker's death in 1885, since which time Mrs Walker has been a much beloved resident of the city. The funeral will take place at the home at 11 Pine street, Monday at 2:30 o'clock.
