He was reported present or accounted for in January-February 1863 and January-April 1864. He was hospitalized at Richmond, Virginia on July 25, 1864 with pleuritis and was furloughed for 60 days on August 18, 1864. He was captured at Sutherland's Station, Virginia on April 1, 1865. He was confined at Hart's Island yankee prison, New York Harbor on June 18, 7, 1865. He was released at Hart's Island on June 18, 1865.
He is buried beside his wife and has no headstone.
