Mrs. Jacob Willis, mother of J.E.Willis of Decatur died in Chicago in the home of her daughter, Mrs. R.W. Stevens at 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Mr. Willis was with his mother, having been called to Chicago Friday.
Mrs. Willis was 88 years of age and was born in Maine. She came to Illinois to live following her marriage to Jacob Willis in 1851. They settled on the Powers farm east of Decatur which is now the chamber of commerce addition. After living there a short time they moved to Arcola but came back in 1873 and resided in Decatur until the death of Mr. Willis in 1916. Mrs. Willis then went to Chicago to make her home with her daughter,
There were six children, three still living, J.E. Willis, Decatur, Mrs.R.W. Stevens, Chicago and Mrs. J.D. Langdale, Chicago.
The body will be brought to Decatur for burial in Fairlawn cemetery. Funeral services will be announced late.
