Benson Alonzo Bullene was born 26 December 1868 at Osceola, Pennsylvania and died suddenly at his late home on N. Main street, 24 January 1922 at the age of 53 years and 28 days. In 1872 he came with his parents to Kansas locating at King City, this county. He lived in the surrounding neighborhood until 1900 when he moved to McPherson, where he has since resided. On 17 October 1900 he was united in marriage to Jennie New. The deceased was a man who stood high in the estimation of his fellows. He was always available for deeds of helpfulness. He was peculiarly fond of children, unsparing of himself in making their lives happy. Mr. Bullene united with the Christian Church February 1906, Through the years he has sought to promote the interests of his Master. He was also a member of the Fraternal Aid Union. He leaves to mourn his passing, besides his wife and daughter, Mrs. Ernest Olson; an aged father Andrew Bullene, three brothers, Ralph of McPherson, Charles of Wichita and Herbert of Canton, Oklahoma. Also a sister, Mrs Ethel Cunningham of McPherson, together with a wide circle of relatives and friends.
