Mr. Shaffer, retired from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, died July 4 at the Friendship Village Medical Center. He was a lifetime member of Tipp City Masonic Lodge 174; a member of Franklin Chapter of the Coleman Commandery of Troy; Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton; and was past master of Franklin Council.
He was a 50-year member of the Antioch Temple Brass Band and a member of the United Methodist Church of Tipp City for 71 years.
Surviving is one brother, John E. Shaffer of Tipp City. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Shaffer, in 1981.
