Hannah (Smith) Dillon was the daughter of James and Betsey (Otis) Smith. She was the 1st wife of Sidney Dillon. They were married July 11, 1841. Sidney was one of America's premier railroad builders and one of the principal contractors of the Union Pacific, as such he received one of the ceremonial silver spikes used to complete the project. He was president of the Union Pacific Railroad 1874-1884, 1890-1892. Sidney died June 9, 1892.
