Charles Morse and Edith L. Baldwin, Thursday Evening, March 7th. (1895)
Last Thursday evening occurred the marriage of Charles Morse and Edith L. Baldwin, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chauncey Baldwin.
At 7:15 Miss Morse, sister of the groom, commenced to play the wedding march, announcing the approach of the bridal party proceeded by the maids of honor, Miss Leila Bentley, and Miss Grace Haines, entered the parlor and took their position under an arch of evergreens across one corner of the room, where the ceremony was preformed by Rev. Carlos B. Lowell of Angelica, cousin of the bride, in the presence of forty invited guests. After congratulations, supper was served in the dining room in a neat and efficient manner.
Miss Evalyn Haines and Mrs. Cora E. Roberts, acted as ushers.
They were the recipients of many nice and useful presents, of which the following is a list;
$10, Mr. Chauncey Baldwin; $10, Mrs. George Morse; large Bible, Mr. George Morse; six silver table spoons, Mr. and Mrs. Chauncey Baldwin; toilet set, Mr. and Mrs. H. Bentley; carving set, Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Morse; one-half dozen napkins, Mr. A. F. Smith and wife; syrup and boat tray, Rev C. B. Lowell and wife; one-half dozen china plates, Miss Stella Smith; table cloth, Mr. C. Baldwin and wife; one-half dozen silver teaspoons, Miss Belle Smith; one-half dozen solid silver teaspoons, Mr. Gardner Smith; one-half dozen cobbler seat dining chairs, Misses Ellen, Sophia and Cynthia Smith; china cup and saucer, Freddy Smith; one-half dozen napkins, Owen Parks; silver butter knife, Melvin Gearhart; vinegar cruet, Leila Bentley; bedspread, Mr. William Way and Miss Mina Fay; lamp, Mr. John Holmes and wife; salt and pepper cells, Bessie Eldridge; one-half dozen napkins, Mrs. J. R. Hamilton; one set silver knives and forks, Mr. and Mrs. Chauncey Smith; mustard cup and tray, Scott Bentley; bedspread, Mr. William Havens and wife; table spread, Mrs. Cora Roberts; pair linen towels, Miss Evalyn Haines; one pair towels, Mr. and Miss Thompson; metal teapot, Mr. John Gelser and wife; crayon picture, Mrs. William Spoon; $5, C.C. Eldridge.
Mr. and Mrs. Morse are young people well known and held in high esteem by their friends, who extend to them congratulations and best wishes for their future happiness.
Friday morning they left for Geneseo and Honeoye to visit relatives, and will be absent about a week. About April 1st , they will commence housekeeping on Mrs. Charles Parker's farm.
