RIMERSBURG - George R. Summerville, 75, of Rimersburg RD 1, died at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 1994, at his residence. Born August 9, 1919, in Piney Township, Clarion County, he was a son of the late Lee M. and Ellen V. (Thompson) Summerville. He married Mabel Hoover on November 24, 1937. She preceded him in death July 8, 1975. He then married the former Eulala Hetrick on December 4, 1981. She survives. Mr. Summerville had been self-employed in the excavating business and as a farmer before retirement. He was a member of Licking Presbyterian Church and was also a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows, formerly of Sligo. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Fred Summerville, of Lancaster, Roy Summerville of Rimersburg, Robert Summerville of Coraopolis and Wesley Summerville of Clarion RD; and two daughters, Mrs. William (Ellen) Clark of Sligo and Mrs. Douglas (Lois) Rothermund of Griffith, Ind. Also surviving are three step-sons, Barry Hetrick of Omaha, Neb., Gary Hetrick of Los Angeles, Calif., and Dan Hetrick of Kittanning; and one step-daughter, Mrs. Floyd (Nancy) Ace of Knox RD. Other survivors include one brother, Vernon Sumerville of Sligo; one sister, Mrs. Dick (Violet) Davis of Sligo; 19 grandchildren; 15 great -grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren. In addition to his first wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Lee Summerville and Clair Summerville; and an infant brother, Ralph Summerville. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Varner Funeral Home in Sligo, with Rev. Brian Clark, pastor of Sligo Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment followed in Rimersburg Cemetery.
