Doris N. Warren, 92, Alexandria, died Jan. 20, 2010 at the Alexandria Care Center following a brief illness.

She was born Oct. 7, 1917 in Eaton, Indiana to Herschel and Della (Smetzer) Rogers. She lived in Alexandria most of her lifetime moving here from Harrison Township in Delaware County.

Doris was a former member of Kings Chapel Church in Delaware County and also attended the Corinth Church as a teenager. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Alexandria. She was faithful to her Lord and her church, and especially in serving others.

For some time she ran what was called the "Warren Free Taxi Service" taking friends to the doctor, hospitals, church and to get groceries. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and country music.

She is survived by son, James (Pippen) Sites, Anderson; daughter, Carolyn McIntyre, Pendleton; granddaughter, Teresa Sites, Anderson; grandsons, J. D. (Sharon) Campbell, Alexandria; Jesse Campbell, Anderson; several step-grandchildren, step great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, James Sites in 1946; her second husband, Virgil Ellingwood in 1973; her third husband, James Warren in 1993.

Funeral services were Jan. 23, 2010 at the Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria. Interment was in Jones Cemetery near Yorktown.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alexandria Church of the Nazarene through the funeral home. The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the staff of the Alexandria Care Center for their kind and compassionate care.
