Flora went home, peacefully to be with her family who had preceded her in death on Tuesday, January 26, 2010.

She was born to Samuel Lenard Hooley (father) and Cora Matilda Newell Hooley (mother) of Orem, Utah on January 2, 1926 and was the sixth of ten siblings; Wilford (Zelda), Uvonne (Elmer) Jones, Owen (Audra), Wayne (Betty), Morel, Lloyd, Belva (Alan) Carling, Garn (Beverly), Darrel. Flora was a devoted wife, sister, daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

She grew up in Orem, Utah and attended Pleasant Grove High School. She met her sweetheart, John William Flygare, on a sweet Sunday afternoon and married him on March 6, 1942; they were later sealed for time and all eternity on October 13, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple. She supported him through his service to our country in WW11, through many moves in the valley, and 67 wonderful years of marriage. They are best friends that love each other more than themselves.

She was the mother of five boys and taught each of them the value of work, and sports, and also how to treat a future wife. They worked hard and they played hard together, and they love each other very much.

Grandma was always very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had a remarkable faith in the gospel and in people in general. Her smile and sweet voice would change the mood of any room and light up everything and everyone around her. She served as Relief Society President, Primary President, Compassionate Service Leader, and many other callings including Visiting Teacher which she loved.

She loved to sew and make crafts. Over the years she has made countless dresses, blankets, and quilts for family, friends, and strangers alike. Reading was also one of her passions, if she started a good book, that is where you would find her until she was finished. She loved to do genealogy and has kept a very detailed history for several different lines. This was just how much family meant to her, and that carried on through her life as her favorite thing to talk to or about-her family.

You never left her home without a few things; a smile, a full belly, and a desire to be as wonderful as she made you feel.

If there is one legacy that she left it would unmistakably be her family, starting with her sweet husband John. She is survived by John William (husband) their sons; John Kay (Shari), Lenard Bruce (Kathleen), Morris Ross (Paula), Dean H. (Cheryl), David Don (Wendi). They also had twenty-seven grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, all of which she loved dearly, and visited with often. She so enjoyed being with family and being a big part in all of their lives.

A viewing will be held at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem, Utah, on Friday January 29, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Windsor First Ward Chapel, 1505 North 145 East, Orem, Utah.
