Bobby Joe Hancock was born September 19, 1949 in Wayne County, Kentucky and departed this life Monday, April 14th, 2003, reaching the age of 53 years. He was the son of the late Samuel Kendrick Hancock and Lena Carroll Hancock.

He is survived by three sons-Tony Hancock of Harrodsburg, KY, Jarrod Hancock of Monticello, KY and Jason Hancock of Michigan. He is survived by one grandchild-Kaia Winter Hancock.

He is also survived by one sister-Patricia Gibson of Monticello, KY and one half brother-Creedie Brown of Louisville, KY, along with numerous close cousins and many friends to mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one niece-Peggy Ann Frost Chesney.

He served his country bravely as a member of the United States Armed Forces. He enlisted in the Army on February 22nd, 1968 and served 13 months in Vietnam. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Sharpshooter Badge for his Rifle skills.

Funeral Service: The funeral service will be Thursday, April 17th, 2003 at 3:30 PM in the chapel of the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home.

Interment: Burial will be in the Parmley's Grove Cemetery.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
